As a freelancer and entrepreneur I created multiple SME websites from scratch, I start with creating a design appropriate the client's corporate identity. These websites, have mostly been built with WordPress as CMS. I chose WordPress due to its popularity and large availability of plugins to meet clients' demands. One example of such a useful plugin is the WooCommerce plugin, which can be used for creating webshops.
We use Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to create themes with a custom design. ACF make it possible to write your own PHP template files, style them with CSS or CSS pre-processors and make them interactive with some Javascript. For our themes SCSS is used with a Webpack / Gulp configuration as toolkit and module bundler.
